The Acupressure Guide

The Acupressure Guide

Acupressure is one of the oldest healing practices in the world, rooted in the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine. By applying gentle, focused pressure to specific points along the body's meridian pathways, we can support the natural movement of energy — or qi — encouraging the body to release tension, restore balance and activate its own capacity for healing.

THE ACU-PEN brings this ancient practice into your daily ritual. Precise, lightweight and simple to use, it is designed to be held like a pen and applied to the face, scalp, neck, and body with calm, intentional pressure.

Understanding Meridians

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, meridians are the channels through which the body's vital energy flows. There are twelve primary meridians, each connected to a specific organ system and area of the body. When energy becomes blocked or stagnant along these pathways — through stress, tension, or fatigue — we may experience discomfort, puffiness, or a general sense of depletion.

Acupressure works by activating points along these meridians, encouraging fresh blood and nutrients to the area and gently clearing what no longer needs to be held.

How to Use THE ACU-PEN

Before You Begin

Find a quiet moment. Sit or lie comfortably. Take three slow, deep breaths to arrive in your body before you begin. THE ACU-PEN works best when you are relaxed and present.

Pressure & Technique

Hold THE ACU-PEN lightly between your fingers and apply steady, gentle pressure to each point. You are looking for a sensation that is firm but comfortable — a slight tenderness at the point is normal and is often a sign that the area needs attention. Hold each point for 30 to 60 seconds, breathing slowly throughout.

Direction

For general use, work in small circular motions or simply hold still pressure. On the face, always work upward and outward to support lymphatic drainage and natural lifting.

Key Points to Explore

Face & Head

  • Third Eye Point — between the brows, at the bridge of the nose. Calms the mind, eases tension headaches and supports clarity.
  • Temples — at the outer corners of the eyes. Relieves facial tension, jaw tightness and stress held in the head.
  • Under the cheekbones — directly below the pupil. Supports sinus drainage, reduces puffiness and encourages natural contouring.
  • Jaw joint — just in front of the ear where the jaw opens. Releases deep tension held from clenching or stress.

Neck & Scalp

  • Base of the skull — the two hollows at the base of the occipital bone. One of the most powerful points for releasing tension, headaches and neck stiffness.
  • Scalp points — moving the pen in small circles across the scalp encourages blood flow to the hair follicles and releases held stress from the head.

Body

  • Sternum centre — midpoint of the chest. Supports emotional release, eases anxiety and opens the heart space.
  • Wrist crease — inner wrist, in line with the little finger. Calms the nervous system and supports restful sleep.
  • Inner ankle — just below the inner ankle bone. Connected to the kidney meridian; deeply grounding and restorative.

Suggested Rituals

Morning — 5 Minutes to Awaken

Begin at the third eye point to clear mental fog, then move to the temples and under the cheekbones to reduce overnight puffiness. Finish with slow strokes across the scalp to activate circulation and set a calm, focused tone for the day.

Evening — 5 Minutes to Release

Start at the base of the skull to release the tension of the day. Move to the jaw joint and temples, then place the pen at the sternum centre and breathe deeply for one minute. Finish at the inner wrist to signal rest to the nervous system.

Frequency

THE ACU-PEN can be used daily. Even two to three minutes of focused acupressure each day, practised consistently, can create meaningful shifts in how the body feels and holds tension over time. Listen to your body — more is not always more. Gentle and regular is the approach that yields the most lasting results.

Pairing THE ACU-PEN

For a deeper facial ritual, use THE ACU-PEN before or after THE FACE TOOL to amplify circulation and encourage your serum or moisturiser to absorb more fully. The ACU-PEN activates the points; the FACE TOOL smooths and lifts the tissues. Together they form a complete moment of intentional self-care.
